  • Action Without Borders - A non-profit-making organisation based in New York USA, that maintains a large directory of not-for-profit resources on the Internet.

    DTI Terminal Approval Policy Committee The function of this site is to be a national resource for information on telecoms terminal equipment including: The development and use of telecoms equipment to support people with disabilities.

  • Films Involving Disabilities - A list of feature films which portray or include disability.
     

  • Foundation For People With Learning Disabilities - Working with people with learning disabilities to improve their quality of life and raise awareness.

     

  • Harrogate Gateway Football Club - The site was set up to provide an insight into football for people with learning disabilities and now hosts a UK football directory (for people with learning disabilities), to put prospective players, teams and volunteers in touch with each other.

  • People First (Central England) - organised by and for people with learning disabilities in the UK.
     

  • People to People - A project in Camberwell, South East London, which tackles the abuse, vulnerability and isolation of people with learning disabilities by working with people directly. Offers counselling, group work, special events and social evenings. The BIG DECISION advisory group meets every month.

  • DragonDictate   A very useful resource on the DragonDictate and other speech recognition systems. Includes details of connecting a PC running DragonDictate to a workstation running X-Windows for voice control using a public domain software package called a2x and a FAQ section on Dragon and other speech input systems.
     

  • Granada Learning - Suppliers of software and technology for people with learning disabilities.
     

  • Inclusive Technology - Computer hardware and software products for people with disabilities.
     

  • SEN Teacher Resources - Freeware downloads, links and documents for those involved in the education of pupils with severe and profound learning difficulties, autism and other developmental and cognitive disabilities.
     

  • TechDIS - This site provides an on-line resource of information about products which are available to assist those with disabilities. Providing information on assistive, adaptive and enabling technologies to the Higher and Further education in the UK.
     

  • Widgit Software Ltd - Software for teachers, parents and carers to help improve the literacy of special needs students and adults with learning disabilities. Includes examples of software using symbols and images. May assist with ideas for improving teaching and learning experiences.
